It is because -
1. In USA, only talent works - no religion, no caste, no reservations
2. Innovations are encouraged in USA and other countries more than in India. HEre, we are fighting for survival (Roti, Kapada and Makan), where is time for innovation?
3. Every new thought is welcomed in USA. thats the reason, you will find more starup (even though sucess ratio is 2/10) opened mostly in USA.
4. Quality education system in higher studies and equivalent funding is provided for most of universities in USA. In India, funding is provided so that USA companies can get skilled labour from top institutes.
5. Opportunities are more to be productize in USA. In India, if you try to invent, more than supporting your invention, politicians/gundas will be behind you to get that innovation on their names

Indians have SLAVE mentality - always follwers

Do something to change this. May be everyone should start bringing changes from their homes...atleast let the kids excel in whatever they wish instead of forcing them to become doctors/engineers only etc

@Sanjay: It is good to see that U have pointed out our inabilities. In fact, every human has own merits and demerits. If U started blaming about one's demerits, then there is no end. Better we have to find out solutions for our problems. Just blaming our-self will give nothing.
We are following western culture in terms of bad things such as drinking alcohols, wearing modern dresses etc.,
But we are NOT following western culture in terms of their good things such as work culture, following rules etc., These are the main reasons for inability to become developed country.
U have mentioned that Indians have SLAVE mentality. My question to U is whether do U have SLAVE mentality?
Once upon a time even Americans were ruled and looted by great British fellows. But today Americans are ruling whole world. This one become possible because of their growth in science and technology. We have to focus our concentration towards science and technology rather than cinema and cricket. Then only we will develop. Sadly we have very small number our own industries as compared to developed countries.
In addition, unfortunately our education system is giving mostly importance to memorizing some paragraphs and writing exams rather than doing more experiments and thinking in creative manner that can lead to innovation. In order to be successful, we(mostly younger generation) need to think differently in progressive way and bring drastic development in our education and research. Let us hope for bes

Indian American teen invents 20-second charger
by Sheetal Kaur on May 21, 2013 06:48 PM

Battery chargers were developed (Not Invented) way back when first accumulator was developed.
She has not invented but developed a super charger.
Invention is something that has never existed any where in the world before.
Still it is good to know that a fast charger has been developed and India (although indirectly)has it name attached to it
Now we need some one to develop a battery that hold its charge for at least a month before recharging.
My best wishes to Eesha Khare, may she progress better in her life.

Nothing groundbreaking in the case!

It would be groundbreaking if she develops or invents a battery that can be a undischargeable power source!

If you have seen the Tom Cruise Movie 'Knight and Day', you will get an idea about the concept of undischargeable power source!
