Dear Mr.Kotwal,

To begin with, i personally congratulate you for taking up this task.

From your article, you have dabbled in playing violin, Cello and other instruments. You discovered your talent for operatic music and you put in hard efforts to achieve that goal.

I wish you a best luck for your future.

I myself being from a middle class Maharashtrian family, am a devotee of Western Classical Music and opera for last 15-20 years.

I had seen live peroformance of Mr.Zubin Mehta with the NYPO in Delhi/Mumbai in 1984 performing Brahms Symphony No.4 and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.3.

While studying in Max Muller, i came in contact with Late Mr. Parag Trivedi, who through his friends Dr.Anjan Ray and others had conducted a series of lectures of apprication of W.C.M.which i had devotedly attended.Unfortunatley i can't play any instrument or read music but i have gathered knowledge of W.C.M.and Operas by listening L.P.s of British Library, and Max Muller Bhavan and gathering books on music. I later on played a small part of the group conducting lectures of appreciation of composers music at various locations in Mumbai. I also attended many concerts at NCPA of Bombay Chamber Orcherstra conducted by Mr.Parvez Doctor during the 90s.

I wish you a great succes in future and i have a decent collection of books on operas and composers and western classical music.

I would be very happy if i would be of some help you.

Regards,

Aditya Purohit.
