Discourage these kind of pseudo patriotic articles.Indian software companies followed the western style of management, finance and infrastructure in IT companies and became successful in reaching 100 billion dollar exporting business. Imagine what could have happened if these companies folowed the Indian style of babu-dom???

The whole system has to change
by Vijay Sahani on Apr 01, 2013 10:24 AM

The system under which indian entrepreneurs operate need to change for them to be innovative and risk taking.

Innovation can happen only when the innovator has the confidence that his efforts will be rewarded. For that we need a robut Patents Act which will safeguard his efforts.

Risk taking cannot happen when there is no rule of law, when legal cases take 20 years to get judgement, when evidences are tampered by the police and when the rich and the powerful get away with murder.

Economic development cannot happen in a vacumm. It gets impacted, and inturn it impacts, the socio-politico realities in the society. Regretablly, we are damaging ourselves in many ways by becoming a lawless society, mainly due to the machinations of the political class.

This problem has been in our DNA since time unknown. We have always been obsessed with everything foreign. The new age entrepreneurs have the caliber to bring out a big change when it comes to recognition of local brands. With innovation well supported this change could surely happen.

India is a land of excess supply
by Face Dude on Apr 01, 2013 09:49 AM

Where the sheer size of the population and their restlessness to make it big quickly, nothing gets done for the common good. Rather people take the approach of borrowed ideas that may seem to work quickly whether it is relevant to the situation on ground or not. When everyone seems to be in a hurry to make ends meet (not solving problems) it is apparent that holistic strategy to solve local problems appears difficult to emerge.
