difficult to get a job with specialized degrees

As you acquire more degrees and become more specialized, you field becomes very narrow. It is very difficult to get a job when your field is very narrow and highly specialized, especially in India. For example a BTech or a BSc graduate may find more job opportunities in India than a person with a PhD degree or a Postdoctoral qualification. Ofcourse the PhD guy has worked harder than a BTech guy. I think people with highly specialized qualifications should go to US or Europe where their work will be more appreciated than in India.

Well said, with a PhD and postdoctoral qualification it is too hard to find a suitable job in India. So, I moved abroad and happy working over there with good remuneration. These days it is highly difficult to acquire academic profession in Indian University without influencing or bribing the selection committee.

Don't need english education, which will make them abandon villages and be un-emplyed in cities....they need knowledge and money to grow food for nation, they need vocational trainings and social security.

Rural Poor need skills which can lead to employment. For this the government should strengthen ITIs and Polytechnics which will not only attract the rural poors but also lessen heavy burden on institutions of higher education as they are flooded with people going for M. Sc. & Ph. D because they did not get the jobs. This way, the quality of higher education will also be improved.

In recent years only unemployed youth are opting for PhD which intern affecting the quality of research work. Unless, we change our education system and train rural poor youth in technical aspects to increase the agricultural output India will never progress.
