What is given by rediff is a rich person's diet.

Since 80% of the patients are either poor or are very poor and can not afford even two meals a day, Rediff is requested to suggest alternate diet affordable by them.

eee----wwww ; rich persons diet?? What's wrong with you? I am working with Diabetics all the time, and till date I haven't come across a single diabetic patient who can be termed as POOR.. We aren't talking about cholera, typhoid..these are poor people's diseases. Diabetes affects the affluent & mid-income classes more than the poor..

You are correct, Then this is not the only food that is suitable for diabetics.
Everyday daily food that is cooked at home is just as good provided there is no sugar in the diet and regular exercise
No need to sweat at the gym a brisk long walk is enough.

Your doctor may not be right.

You need to bring the FBS to below 100 and PPBS to below 150 levels. What about your urine? Does it contain traces of sugar too? In that case you will definitely need medication. If you are serious, write your e mail address as reply to this post. I will guide you further.

126.5mg = 15.5 mml which is high very high.
Normal sugar level in a none diabetic person is 44.00mg 5.5mml
and diabetic should not go past 60.00mg = 7.5mml.
An occasional but not regular 72.00mg = 9mml ks acceptable, say after a wedding or meal in a restaurant perhaps once in a 3 months or more.
Take a second opinion if I was you.
By the way I am diabetic with type 2 as well and have been for 20 years.
I control mine with medication and exercise, and I eat normal food at home nothing special is cooked for me only, One do not have to sweat it out at a gym but a brisk walk at study pace daily is enough to burn extra sugar.
I travel a lot and have to stay in hotels perhaps you will know that ever food in hotel is cooked with some sugar added, even boiled vegetables have sugar added to make them sweeter and appetizing.
Avoid junk food such as pizza, burgers etc cold drinks and all.
When you feel thirsty try a cool refreshing glass of water, nothing beats it.
yes you can spoil yourself to a limit occasionally with a Ice cream or a small piece of cake or a bite of chocolate but just a little but not on a regular basis.
Learn to say NO, when such items are offered may be at friends house etc.
tell your friends and relatives that you are diabetic, nothing to be ashamed of it may save your life one day.
One just need self control, your body is your temple, worship it.
As you will not do any thing out of context at a temple, same applies to your body.

For 1 minute rediff will not allow to post then it posts 8 copies.
I marked the other 7 as irrelevant.
I know all of you get frustrated just as I do.
Rediff get your act right.
