Rediff is bound to loose its credibility if they continue to dish out such toxic articles. Who so ever has written this piece probably knows too little about mutual funds and their ratings.

Wise men who value security of their money should not investment in Mutual Fund as at the time of Redemption any amount that the investor may have received by way of dividend is adjusted and the balance is paid to him. Eg on an investment of Rs 20,000/ if the investor receives Rs 2000/ as dividend, he is paid Rs 18000 while redeeming the investment. This is not the case in FDs of banks where the depositor receives full amount invested by him/her

When any mutual fund pays dividend it is paid out of the NAV of the scheme. There is no seperate reserves for paying dividend. Hence NAV is bound to go down once the dividend is paid. Needless to say Value of the remaining amount also will fluchuate according to variations in stock market

Quantum is direct equity fund. One needs to go to MF directly . Since they do not involve marketing cost they are likely to do better. Flip side of having No Marketing is that After so many years quantums AUM is not able to cross even 1000 crore

its really surprising to see none of the very good large cap n mid cap funds like Franklin Bluechip , and IDFC premier equity not showing up , this looks like a totally biased review.
