brahmaputra-- masculine name??
by Megellan myself on Jun 06, 2013 05:56 PM  | Hide replies

What ignorance!! brahmaputrA is feminine!! Its archaic vedic sanskrit. The only river with masculine name is damodar.

The river Damodar certainly has a masculine name, so the Brahmaputr is not the only one. But Brahmaputr is NOT a feminine name as the "a" is only in English. It is silent in its original Sanskrit pronounciation, Brahmputr.

Wrong composition
by palanki narayana on Jun 05, 2013 04:56 PM  | Hide replies

The Pangong lake photo is wrongly composed with the water body and the hills cutting the photo into two equal halves. Should have followed the rule of thirds.

The rule of third is the best; but it is not always applicable. Here the photographer could not refrain from taking the birds in water to the entire land mass behind, the air - the water - the earth, the yin & yang of nature albeit in the horizontal mode; these could not have been adjusted in the thirds law.

Cut the photo into two halves horizontally, you get two different subjects and two panoramic views.
