In my daughter’s school, occasionally she is given some home projects which she cannot be expected to do at her age. Eventually, we, her parents, do her project. What’s the point in giving projects to children that have to be done by the parents? Where is the learning for the child here?

This is what happens when educators use the internet to develop curricula for Indian schools!
All this points to the horrible quality of the Indian education system!
The Indian education system was developed and established by Lord Macaulay, a rabid British colonist, to produce generations of subservient clerks who would do their work diligently and never ever dare question their white masters!
Lord Nehru, another rabid British colonist with intense personal imperial ambitions, wanted to and eventually took over the remains of the British empire in India.
Since Lord Nehru spent most of his time during his incarceration studying the history of India and the administrative model of the British empire in India, realized he needed to retain the British model to establish and sustain his own private empire and dynastic monarchy over India!
This is the reason why India continues to retain the British education, judicial, law enforcement, administrative, military, and foreign service systems!

Why ? are you scared that even you may not be able to do the project ?
I think it is a fantastic idea. At least it gives an oppertunity to the parents to interact with their children, access their knowledge, and remain one up on them as today's children think we are antique.

We cant really say that child learns nothing if some project is done by his/her parents. This is usual learning process, do you think some Fresh Engineering Gradute starts doing projects on his own?? Absolutely No.. in most cases he remains an assistant for 3-4 years min.
Truth is that majority of the class 12 students do not even have an idea of what an engineer is and what does he do. They simply join the ratrace and think that engineer is very big and become too happy if they get a seat. Especially those from the lower strata of society feel very proud about it. A job holder, no matter what the job is, unless it is a govt job, is a slave and nothing more. Master is always the owner. In some states of India engineer means more dowry, USA returned means more dowry, and they become engineer for that. Quality of education in india is pathetic so it does not matter if one is engineer or lawyer or doctor he is most likely a very poor quality fellow. Most colleges have teachers who are just ex-students who did not get other job and such fellows teach. How can you expect any quality? Further, does a country like india need quality?
'Nine out of 10 engineers never wanted to be an engineer'
This is 10000000000% correct!
They become engineers to conform to a slave mindset created and perpetuated by Lord Nehru who kept the subservient clerk creating British education system in tact so that future Indian generations could serve the dynasty he created like the subservient clerks who diligently helped the British lord over its Indian colony in the pre-independence years!

Engineers can never become clerks. Why you north indian people always dragging Nehru, sonia or any other congressman for all the issues? Though I am not a congressman, I feel that it is the awareness of individuals that going by what they like or going by what everybody likes? Unfortunately, if they have gone by their heart, they could have earned more better than what they are earning right now.

Some of them do become clerks. They are euphemistically referred to as "Program Managers"
