It's pathetic to drive 2 wheeler
by Abhijit on Jul 01, 2013 12:45 PM  | Hide replies

- Roads are really bad. So many potholes.
- Wearing helmet is also compulsory. Heavy helmets are bad for neck.
- Bike designs are incorrect. One needs to sleep over fuel tank to get hold of handle. (They should follow Harley Davidson designs.)

No brother. The road condition on G Q route is very good. Except Jaipur - New Delhi portion, which was under expansion at the time of my travel. And I enjoy riding my Pulsar.

We are proud of you Mr. Sabnis - for completing such a strenous & demanding record - Proud that we stay in the same city.
Will your feat get recorded with 'Word Bikers Associations'? - If not you must try to get it recorded.
I had recently read about a girl completing 24 hrs -Bangalore - Pune -return journey recorded.

Such records of speed riding should not be encouraged in the interest of young people. With most places administrators reluctant to make helmets mandatory for bikers and pillion riders hundreds of people especially youth are killed on the road. Advertisement in media in spite of warning to not to imitate the shown fast bikers, youngsters are reluctant to resist the temptation and take great risk on roads at the expense of their parenrs

Ok Mr. So Confused, let us dissect the ride. The first 7 hours he took to reach Ahmdbd which is 670 Kms from Mumbai . i.e. an average speed of about 96 Kmph then he took 17 Hrs (frm Mumbai) to reach Jaipur which is another 300 Kms from Ahmdbd i.e. 970 Kms totally in 17 Hrs. so the average speed is reduced to 57 Kmph and finally he reached Delhi, a distance of around 1240 Kms after 24 Hours of starting riding, an average of 52 Kmph. so Mohit when he was freshest and fittest rode 1240 kms in his first 24 hours and with an average speed of 52 Kmph. From there obviously he gets tired and speed reduces and the final average speed after his ride of 6354 Kms in 116.5 Hours comes to about 54.5 Kmph. Now to sustain that average speed with all the stops and breaks he could be doing about 80 -90 Kmph or what is that 56 Miles per hour. This is more of an endurance ride more than the speed if you carefully do the math. I am a long distance rider and have done shorter similar distance at speeds of 90 Kmph. What I object here is the fatigue at the end of the ride could have caused a mishap endangering other innocent lives on the road. so fatigue and stress is the killer here not speed. If you say a person should not test his endurance and give up, if you say a man should not give his best then I agree with you. Riding 116 hours on a bike is a great feat, the average speed is hardly about 55 Kmph here. and if you look at his snap, he is wearing proper riding gear. so guess he is a hero

Baja Pulsar product placement
by Dona Paula on Jul 01, 2013 11:17 AM  | Hide replies

Nice plug for the pulsar product and more fodder for the braindead teenager. Parents BE AWARE!! More youngsters have been killed, maimed or seriously injured on pulsar bikes than any other branded motorized two wheeler.

thats not pulsar's problem, thats the problem of people who want power without understanding their limitations or responsibility.
Many two wheeler riders ride as if there is nobody else on the road at that time.

Mr. Sabnis's feat shows that there's nothing wrong in the bike - IF YOU RIDE IT SAFE. - If one rides like a Hell driver - obviously it is not a mistake of the bike & manufacturer.
I have seen so many youngsters breking signals & pushing their vehicles between stop & start of other road's signals - just to show off - without any reason.
Zig-zag driving & crossing paths of heavy vehicles from very near is another cause of accidents.

ALL 2 WHEELERS ARE DANGEROUS IF NOT RIDDEN CAUTIOUSLY. SO DON'T TALK RUBBISH. PEOPLE RIDING BIKES SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE.

You don't have to drive super fast. I never do that. Since the G Q road is very good and wide you don't need to drive rash also. Just keep an average speed of 80 km/h. Don't take too many halts. Ride overnight with minimum two power naps in whole night. Don't have heavy meals. Have lots of water. Be good in oral maths (because time & distance calculations keep on changing after every 3 hrs.) Ride responsibly and safely. It's a test of your endurance and will power. Motorcycle brand is not important.

You stay at home all the life & die like a creature - that's not life.

At least appreciate the feat - like an ACP in Orissa did - but for that also 'MONOBAL' is required.
