The Real Raman story
by True Indian on Jan 21, 2013 10:26 AM

Some facts to clear who and why..

Mr. Raman is basically a reseller/PR agent of global accreditation companies. He with his links in education ministry had tried in vain to get Sibal to change the policy. This would have thrown large number of politicians making money on education out of business.

This is just another sector where foriegn companies entered india looking for the big promise of GROWTH from people like RAMAN.

This business of accreditation is one of extortion once the companies get settled in india. They lobby with US education dept for compulsory accreditation of indian schools and force indian schools to get audited at exorbitant prices due to their monopoly position.

One big company called Dun & Bradstreet is doing the same for small indian exporters in the name of so called DUNS number.

Now coming to the NRI factor, it is just to create a fear psychosis. First, the quality of US educated MBAs is hardly better than indian educated ones. An Indian MBA is preffered in entry level indian jobs as knowing US economic, market and financial system is not relevant to working in indian business.

Such appointments of expat CEOs as head of auto companies is not due to shortage of talent. Such companies have since grown global by acquiring global brands and establishing presence across the world. Managing a global business requires a multi cultural experience. This has little to do education in india or US.

34 years in industry and you write such amateurish

Our universities not upto the standard
by Vijaya Krishna on Jan 20, 2013 09:30 AM

Indian Universities are not upto international standards. I came to know about this after I returned from US doing my PhD. I applied for a lot of universities for a faculty position. But wherever I applied there were internal candidates having lower credentials who also applied for the same position. There was lot of politics in the universities as only these useless candidates were selected. I was not even called for an interview. That is the sad state of affairs in our universities. They cater to only internal candidates. Research gets affected as a result. What I have realised is that the Indian system (especially our agricultural universities) is quite happy to continue doing what they were doing all these years. They don't want any outsiders to come and change the system. I have seen enough of this trash already. I am going back to US to continue my research interests. I will never teach and set up my lab in India

highest post or educated indian in india will never
1 obey rules
2 be honest
3 uderstand humanity
4 be polite
5 talk nonsence about shining india (as he never has stood in line to pay bills, visited munciple office, gov office, gov hospital, been in a poor area even with his windows open in his ac cars, talk about people not keen to work or address them lazy
6 give interviews being modest
and millions of things that a common man does in his life but he dosent,
youth in our society so iresponsible, careless, and selfish
what can a highest post or educated indian in india can do....
1 expect to rule people
2 use of his powers to do anything may it be medicle, crime, police in short everything n because of such people a common man of india suffer
3 would never step out of their ac cars in middle class area
4 always take care of his being in comfort one in business society n lets millions suffer because of poorerty
well this will be too little place to write or point out things why NRI will hold highest posts in india and sure they deserve it.. to be mature and law respecting unlike we Local indias

Don't worry! No N R I is taking your job!

N R I s are wussies when it comes to working in India!

They will get stressed just commuting to work!

These clowns have pampered themselves into believing that they are exactly like the foreigners they worked with and will expect to be treated as such!

Indian co-workers can have a field day messing with them!

N R I s just can't survive in the Indian working conditions!

Indian working conditions act as a natural 'barrier to entry' for both white people and N R I s!

So Relax!

Agree, no NRI is going to come to India and stay to stear Indian companies. We are talking 1-2 % of very senior postions and does not affect the middle or senior posions.

I think India Inc and Education system has to implement the innovative reforms to impact into the global market.

1. Education reforms : I have observed the quality of an average student coming out from US and UK universities are far better than Indian talented grads, I am not talking about the bright and the best(iit/iim's) indian talents, The strength of indian education system is with 90% of average indian graduates, that is because of many reasons, one of them is the education system. Government has to lay down the policies to fund, build infrastructure including comparative forums to researchers, lack of these facilities lead to a poor quality and lack of confidence in students. There are merely few industry and university engagement to promote joint research projects which is a key to build the intellectual talents for long term. This eventually will enhance the quality over a period of time inviting overseas industries projects to be done by university participants.

This can only be done by bringing the talented multicultural xpat or NRI's at influencing levels both in industry and education system.
