not correct mr. tharoor

RTE is just a shiny dress...no substance. He says RTE ensures EVERY child has the right to education. REALLY??? Why is there reservation at school level for it??

FIRST, Have they ensured that ALL POOR people can benefit from it?? NO. They have caste based reservation for it, on the percentage of students the school has to take under RTE.

Second...The school has no proper mechanism to ensure that the right people are getting benefit of RTE...they just have a lottery system for it. In Chennai, a couple earning 38 Lacs tried to admit their child under RTE - free education...coz they belonged to "backward" caste.

Third...Why are minority schools exempt from RTE rule. Almost 60% of schools I encounter are run by minority institutions. They are not under RTE and they continue to give seats to kids whose parents offer them max donation.

WE don't need RTE or RESERVATION....we need MORE schools and colleges. If manpower is a problem....why not record the lecture of a good professor and play in classrooms?? It's better than having NO classes.

Gulf reveries

Mr.Tharoor boasts well about coolie status of Indians. Well in his state kerala the employment scene is so bad that almost entire stete goes out for jobs. The Gulf remittance is the main source of income. Here the average employment aspirant catches hold of a gulf agent and pays up for visa. According the agent arranges for a sinecure in gulf region. In many cases the employment scenario is very bad and often the prospect ends up at the hands of a exploitative employer. Not having much to bargain the incumbent quietly bears everything. while at home he is faced with a situation where in he has to provide for educational, medical and matrimonial expenses for a suite of relatives. Being very emotional and cartelious in approach a typical family invites a minimum of 250 guests for sumpuous 6 time meals in case of any social function like marriage, child naming ceremony, child birth or celebration of 60th year, 80th year of aged couple. For this in many cases they also have to bear travel and accomodation expenses of guests lest it should reflect very badly on his charactar and life. TYPICALLY A MARRIAGE WOULD involve a cost of atleat 3-4 lakhs and middle class and rich familes tend to spend even more. This apart the gulf goer is tasked with employment generation for a brother or cousin or any relative whom he expects to take with him on next visit. This apart shopping expenses top very much. Often being unable to bear the burden of expectations and criticisms he succumbs.

He is wrong. In the older IITs like Bombay, nowadays plenty of good research is being done. See their websites.
