The Miss Universe title is not taken seriously outside the developing world! It is just a commercial venture that seeks to prepare the developing world market for big corporates (and cosmetics giants constitute just one segment among them) to benefit from.
Commoditize women more and more and then sit down and wonder, ‘why do rapes happen.’ One has to agree that the media, Hollywood and Bollywood has done great amount of damage to the men’s psyche. Over the years these industries have objectified women to a great extent by making them wear less and less. The respectability quotient of women has gone down in the last few decades because of the over-exposure of their bodies.

Funny you blame over-exposed women for rapes. Wonder why naga sadhus don't get raped while they over-exposed?
