What about the companies which are itself not clear.
by rohit kumar on Feb 15, 2013 11:09 PM

There are so many companis which are not clear with what they actually want. e.g. an engineer is required for a post, has asked the recruting agency, ultimately land up confused and waste a lot of time.
If a person is desperate he will apply in order to get noticed a 3 yr exp can apply for 5 yr exp job as mostly HR personals simply collect CV and without noticing forward to the concerned person. These HR personals do not know exact requirement of the company at all.

There are so many fake jobs
by correct on Feb 15, 2013 08:45 PM

Actually for each IT job for seniors the ratio is 1 job 100 applicants for junior jobs 1 job 350 applicants. So this heard mentality should go from India and people should explore lot of other jobs that are there in the market. Most of the Indians in India do not want to take any risk including the Govt but want to be the world richest and world's most powerful and they expect that should happen automatically how is this possible. Without hard you get nothing.

Do some introspection too..
by Kid on Feb 15, 2013 08:24 PM  | Hide replies

Rajesh Nair is preaching and giving advices to candidates, that's ok but what about plenty of uncouth and silly recruiters (so called) who are no more than 'CV Collectors'!!!

I have come across numerous such so called placements consultants who don't appear prepared/updated for the advertised position when I followed up after emailing my Resume. Often they either dont remember their own posts or give generic replies even to specific pointed questions. In one such case I felt so disgusted, I let the conversation took a jocular turn. Most of the consultants never respond to candidates and even after follow-ups, many look disheartened or uninterested.

Hence, I see them as 'CV Collectors' to build their data bank.Beware of them. They usually post a free messages (like LinkedIn) and give yahoo, gmail IDs.

First of all let me clarify that most of the placement consultants work for their clients who happen to be the companies that they recruit for and not the candidates. Hence it becomes humanly impossible for them to reply to all the job applications as we get not less than 50 applications in a day on average.

Also,You are not going to get the reply if the position you applied for, does not match with your Profile. Remember that the placement consutlants are not making you pay a single cent for the job hence they are not accountable to you.

So next time when you apply for the a particular job and you dont get a call from the consultant, think of it as it doesnt match the requirement in terms of experience or sal range, hence no need to get offended

@Hindustani, that's the difference between a real recruiter who's a 'gem locater' unlike the guys who're just trying to match the fits. You too seem to be of the same club.Pity that's what you're propagating.

Regret such 'CV Collectors' will never locate a true talent.

If one goes by your inane logic Indra Nooyi would never have been located. Hope you know she changed jobs from ABB to Motorola to Pepsi. Now tell me where's the 'match'???

Go figure

Intellectual property protection!
by Anuj Kumar on Feb 15, 2013 11:37 AM  | Hide replies

Wonder why there is no intellectual property protection for articles like these?

This article has been copied from Yahoo! and this "CEO" is passing it off as his own?!

Amazing!
