Housewife or expert, nobody can predict the movement of any stock over a short time or long time, with a reasonable degree of success. Retail investors / traders are never going to make any profit from market. When Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was asked to give an advice to retail investors, he simply said never trade. You can lose all your money, in fact 6-7 times your total asset in the market and this could happen to anybody at any time. Stoock market is simply gambling and house wifves should never do that - considering you have no other source of income. Experts make money by advising people, managing someone elses money. They dont trade / invest themselves and you know why. Big bulls like Rakesh, play games and manipulate. There is no Waren Buffet in India and we only have manipulators.
Want equity expoure? Do an SIP in a diversified / index fund. Never over do even that, invest only a small potion of your money in the market.

Zeng, what you just said is a common misconception in Indian investors. Thats why foreign funds invest heavily in India and we lose out the opportunity to buy Indian firms. Basically, economy grows steadily overtime and hence stocks will grow as well. What is required is a sensible approach to risk management and yes, steady SIP kind of investing. Learning technical analysis will also help.

Why!! She wants to make money while being at home, what's wrong with that? You mean others who go to work and manage their homes as well are less greedy than a housewife who wants to trade / invest in stocks! Get out of this parochial mindset and appreciate the fact that she wants to do something that is perfectly legal!

there is nothing wrong for a housewife to make some bucks whilst at home as she is already taking care of family and would like to make pocket money, however you mean to say those who go out for work can justify their work balance at home. please think twice before you post this scrap.
