The feminists at times take things a bit too far...You have to visit some of the instituitions where women are in majority Comments are usually made by women on men- like thinking from south pole ( you know what I mean) etc. These are all in jest and fun. The author needs to get a life...waste of time.
I wonder if this lady has left something out of her account. There is nothing here that would get me even annoyed.
This was a visitor to the campus putting on a show; his remarks should be treated with the lack of seriousness they deserve.
There must be something in the humanities courses that makes people sensitive to things like this. My suggestion, let the humanities people in the IITs have their own shows with gender-affirming, completely inclusive monologues. This should be complete with lighted signs for the audience telling them when they can respond, applaud or boo without violating the feelings, human integrity or self-worth of anybody in a 500 metre radius.
I will also say that her account of the events does not deserve the tag of the very loaded term she chose to call it. Calling this sexual harassment trivializes the real harassment suffered by other people less fortunate than the author of this piece. It may strike terror into the hearts of all the unfortunate people involved in this, but for the sake of the author's credibility one should be careful what terms one uses.
I mean its a joke that Arpita is Researcher on Caste & Gender given she is making such a mess when there is not an issue.
I have seen these kind of skits played out in IIMs or for that matter IITs back in 1990s or early 2000.
Accept the fact that IITs or for that matter Engineering is not female dominated field. And even girls in India do not want to pursue these pure engineering fields.
So little fun and taking it in light way does no harm. I feel She has come from village background and can not understand and digest subtle humor.
Anyways I will come to the other point before coming to my main point - that is growth of India - In particular developing nations.
Some time back some politician said that he now fears talking to girls. Given what is happening on this front - Indian society is now facing a challenge. Who wants to hire a female PAs or secretary. Girls like Arpita is making life difficult for themselves.
I would have appreciated if she could have done something worthwhile or has shown the path in positive way. Now even Kapil sharma of Comedy nights with Kapil will be careful what he says in the name of Comedy. That will feel sexism, degrading to people like Arpita.
So what to do, Just ignore people like them. You will find those kind of people and others do ignore them.
And the last very important, If India has to grow then they have to focus on growth rather than black money or corruption. If everyone do their work properly then it can be really achiev

As expected after my comment published, Ms Arpita posted economist link on her twitter "Big rich countries like to portray themselves as leaders in the fight against black money. In fact they are laggards"
2 things to iterate here.
1) Developed countries focus on growth and not on black money. They can not stop it. Hard work is in their hands which they do. The same applies to their people. They try to do their work well than being peeping tom.
2) Their are many people like Arpita who say black money is real cause of all the problems on India and blame government.
They focus on things which doesn't provide them opportunities for personal growth or say skills growth and propelling the developing countries like india to growth path.
These problems are with every developing countries not just India.
I can provide more details on this issue. But for now it should be enough. It is just that I get bogged down these things sometimes and write like this.
If some readers can understand what I am talking my rant will be worthwhile.
all he said was " dont worry guys once u graduate from here you will find nice girls to marry " people need to pull their heads out of their prejudiced hypocritical holes , womens rights doesnt mean that no one can say a word without offending them in some way , might as well be robots and not interact then ..this is so sad , palash sen didnt say nothing wrong , im not even a fan of euphoria
