Seksual orientation that is against nature's laws ought to be rejected by the society.

Being attracted to the same gender is never natural. Period. They must be rejected by society for the society to move forward. This latest fad is a lifestyle choice imported by the rich from west.

a bad verdict by highest court
by vinay taneja on Dec 12, 2013 11:58 AM

As per current understanding homosexuality is either by harmons or by nature on which and individual has no control and it starts from his/her childhood and actually nobody knows that he/she will become homo. Making it a crime is nothing but a decision in hurry without understanding the cause and cure of it. How can a person be criminal for the facts that are not in his/her control and were fed in their mind by either environment or inharitance that too at such a small age when they are not fully aware of definition of crime. What if someone at the age or 17 comes to know he/she is homo, is there any cure to that? will keeping them behind bars for few years make them straight. Has Supreme court defined any cure for this crime?

It Is really sad,But what we do for it as people,we never support them ,when they needed,so for this decision supreme court is not responsible ,as we are responsible, who hate them instead of caring & it,s start from home, then society & now court..first off all try to tell we are all human being & instead of hate, they require your love & support to live,so as human it is our duty to take-care of them in manner to solve problem & not make complicated so behave like human & save them from such happening.

Let us be level headed about Homosex and Lesbianism
by kv raghuram on Dec 12, 2013 10:47 AM

The Supreme Court’s ruling to set aside the verdict of the Delhi High Court in 2009 decriminalising gay sex among consenting adults in private, is indeed a prudent and path breaking judgement, which will help eyes of the society to open up, not to ape the west, in restoring social and cultural values in the country, with regard to perverted notions of gay and lesbianism.
The judgment to be called ‘retrograde’ by Union Minister Jairam Ramesh is despicable. One hopes that Law Minister Kapil Sibal would not do anything rash, with the sole notion to exercise his prerogative, by reversing the judgment, by making this constitutionally a law.
Whether one calls for banning gay sex, being the colonial era Section (IPC) 377, is a great injustice to society as sex can be called sex, only when it is between two different gametes of the same species, whether for pleasure or procreation. Above all the judgement paves the way in preventing HIV in the society to a great extent.

Nothing is Right in not being Straight
by Citizen Court on Dec 12, 2013 10:42 AM  | Hide replies

It is sad that an otherwise capable and wise young man had to end his life this way. But it is the price one has to pay for indiscretion by resorting to unnatural sorts of things and expect that world should accept and celebrate it.

How mean minded you can get???

A person has lost a cousin who took his life because of the social stigma he had to face for not being their "type"!!!

Why do we have to get judgemental about people and their practices when it is not harming us in any way.

If a guy loves another guy, it is his life, does it impact others in any way, to treat him/her differently?

If ever humans always choose to ignore what others do, there wouldn't have been civilisation. Don't think you can use your tools where ever and whenever, without attracting social attention and its consequences.

Really sad story
by Opinionated Man on Dec 12, 2013 10:15 AM  | Hide replies

Our society can grant a few years of jail to a person who masacres a girls body and soul and not hang him to death because he is a few months less than 18......and takes away the freedom to love someone, because it doesn't suit the supreme court judge's sensibilities....

We call ourself "cultured" and we bribe through broad daylight and curse people day in and day out...yet we take away the right of people to love and spread love.

We send spaceships to Mars and yet we are not ready to allow people to love their own way!!!

This is the sad society we live in.....

O Man,

377 is a British law created in 1860 to stop British officers from plugging their British subordinates in the back side!

You should ask why laws created for British officers are still being applied in India 66.33 years after India was declared independent of the British?!

And another more relevant question that needs to be asked is why are we Indians continuing to follow British laws and administrative systems if the "Indian" Constitution was written by Doctor Ba Ba Black Ship Am in Bed Car and we are supposed to be independent?!

India's fairy media is going crazy over this verdict like a bunch of drama queens!

Why doesn't Indian media or the wronged community bring up the issue of how we have a British constitution in an Indian book cover?!

Inspite of your sarcasm, and cynicism, I would like to state something simple.

Plugging of subordinates on the backside is still not done. The simple difference being the consentual aspect of it.

Plugging anyone anywhere, irrespective of gender if not by consent is a crime and amounts to rape.

You are trying to generalize the whole thing from a specific issue at hand.

The problem here is the overruling by SC, and not the broader picture of the constitution and Congress.

I might be a moron, but to me freedom of expression, especiialy on who I want to love, albeit consentually should be my right

India just proved that it still lives in the colonial era by passing such a judgement. We have not grown in our thoughts and outlook. Many of the below negative comments are from people who are are ignorant about the lives of gays/lesbiana. The fact is that gays/lesbians are just as natural as you and me are. This is their way of life. We need to respect and understand their life.
