It is a defective title or it should have been Antiquated Women and Arranged Marriage,or it could have been that the Modern Girls in Chen nai are still caught in the time warp availa ble some 100 years back and have refused to move into New Millennium.The modern girls else where,with brilliant academic credentials and massive pay packages get their right partners in marriage in their academic/work environment or through internet, wherein they are in the center stage of negotiations and others including the parents are in the side lines.
question is, in western coutries, people know each other before marriage, they even test sexual compactibility, but still most marriages land up in divorces, or either of the partner is not sure when their relation will end, why

Perhaps the author does not know that the entire world has moved into new millennium and the girls and guys are no more in the narr ow confines of caste and commun ity and are free to select their partners in marriage through academic/work environment or internet.In a modern world,what matters is the matching of wave lengths.
