The East Coast Road is also a fun and scenic trip. Especially when the tides are high it gives an adventure feel to the trip. Stop where ever and replenish with tender coconut water on the go, relish some neat roadside eateries- veggie or seafood, and don't bother with the A/C, just let the sea breeze through - it can get gutsy so don't keep loose items. This trip was fun back in college on shared overloaded bikes, it is fun even with cars loaded with family items now. Remember to take multiple sets of swim wear and goggles to enjoy pristine white sandy beaches and warm water. Allocate enough time for boating at Muttukadu, Dakshin chitra art/culture village, ofcourse Mahabalipuram, crocodile bank, karaikal and Puduchery offer multiple activities and to do things, Manora fort built by Marathas, Tuticorin port and waters are colorful. Scenic portions of the drive are scattered all through the journey. All along there are some famous temples starting with Mahabs, Marudeswarar etc. The length of the road may not be long, but the scenery and activities along demand atleast 3-4 days to do justice.
Tawang is to the north-east of Guwahati and Cherrapunjee to the south. Guwahati to Cherrapunjee is approx. 164 km. That leaves 317 km. Will Rediff's armchair traveller tell me how to get from Cherrapunjee to Tawang in 317 km?
