To suceed in job you need two things
by on Aug 08, 2013 09:54 PM  | Hide replies

Either be a master of your job and bring great contribution to your workplace. 20% people fall in this category. These 20% typically shoulder 80% job.

Or be a sycophant, master the art of flattery, buttering and ability to fake that you are contributing. about 70% people fall in this category and they shoulder 20% job.

You are none above two about 10%, you are bound to suffer.

Also if you are a good looking sexyGirl you will succeed too as most workplaces need few to keep the environment wet else it causes dry skin.

This article is obviously "reprinted" from some US publication!

And we thought we couldn't outsource anything to the US!

I will give you interesting scenario. My father spent whole life in one college and he was vice-principal. While appearing for principal interview (near retirement age), he had got questions about how much percentage in 10th standard and 12th standard!! This things are ridiculous but fact in India.
As somebody says, Bill Gates can not even get software programmer job in most Indian companies - he wont be capable and shortlisted!

In india companies will not call you for interview if you dont have a decent %age, i find it ridiculous. In practical life i have seen those who deliver are street smart people not necessarily heavy scorer on marks.

Recruiting a big %age guy is like hiring a Bodybuilder to play Football without checking whether he is able to run. May b someone can use him to take a picture with Football, Indian service companies needed them to showcase their head count

Huh, do you think the company created by Bill Gates would hire a low scoring guy?

Off course, yes. I was part of Microsoft and I have seen it - though not much in India - as finally recruiters are again from India.
