Funny but true
by Saikat Sengupta on Jan 22, 2014 08:26 AM

Her story reminds me of a speech by a tycoon at a business college.

"10 years ago I landed in this city with nothing but an envelope my father had given me with his blessings, and today I am leading business man, just goes to show what you can achieve through perseverance"...

After the speech a student approached the business-man and asked him " Sir your story was very inspiring, and I would love to know what did your father give you in that envelope?"

The tycoon replied " Oh about 20 million dollars in bearer bonds"

....

Started a career with 2 pound sterling ... right!! not to mention the private education in UK her dad paid for... she had to study her 10th again ...oh the hardship!!! and she had to do an articleship in london ... you DONT say??

High profile achievers....
by indian on Jan 22, 2014 08:18 AM  | Hide replies

90% all these high profile achiever are at right place, at right time. More importanly, able to make good by riding on the shoulders on low profile hard workers...who does'nt show off, whereas these people due to right connection boast their achievement at cost of low profile hard working more importantly, thinking people.

However, there may be expection of about 10%.

Nothing Great
by abhay narayan on Jan 21, 2014 08:45 PM

I don't think Vibha has done anything great. If you are born with silver spoon in mouth, you have complete edge with other common but many of them much capable candidates. With London degree and high contact, you are bound to get jobs with big corporates, and with support and brain work of several brilliant assistants, credit is taken by bosses. Let Vibha face problems of Indian corporates, then she will realise how difficult is to run finance function in this county as also in world.

I think
by Sunil Kumar on Jan 21, 2014 08:01 PM

I think this person's life started at a place where she knew the heights of professional life, heights one can reach, and had confidence of reaching there. I think it has nothing to do with achievements, it is just that she was at right place at the right time and there are many who will so.

It would have been a story if someone from middle class or lower class had reached this level. Though it is talent and hard work that might be brought her to this position, I think the headline does not hold good for the story.
