No single reason that anyone should buy this

There are so many bikes with less weight, more power, more pick up, style, less maintenance.
Enfield needs to improve. They may not go with changing style immediately but for sure they should improve fuel efficiency, work on maintainability.

Abhijit, this is a 350 - 500CC bike not your regular hero honda splendor. Waiting period is almost a year to own a bull. If you are so worried about mileage, maintainability, I suggest you only use your feet for transportation. With their new UCE engine none such problems exist. You ought to own a bull to know how it feels. I've been a proud owner for the past 3-4 years.

Beware!

I've been a huge bullet fan...drove it a few times and finally got a chance to own one last year. But I am apalled to see horrible lack of quality. for bike costing 1.65 lakhs, (Classic 500), it was leaking from engine the very first day, they couldnt fix it after 2 services and finally I'd to escalate it. Many parts are getting rusted within 6 months. the rear view mirrors are useless as they vibrate after a speed of 40 kmph. Its basiclaly like a ' vintage car' or a 'white elephant'..very low (zero ) on utility and very high on maintainance...Keep away from it!!!

It has its own problems but still if you wanna own a bike it should be either bullet or Yamaha RX 100

Thanks for info. I am admirer of bullet but usedto have problem with LHS brakes. That has now been replaced. But if the above problems exist, then no use going for it for pride....

"Everbody Makes Way For The Bullet"......the famous tagline.....the "Bullt" gives such a kick that no other bike can dream of, that is the USP of this timeless machine.

RE Bullet 500

Having possessed and used BSA, Matchless, AJS and Ariel for years, I have found that the Bullet" bikes of 350 or 500 category can never match the acceleration and power of the above old British bikes. The reason? The exhaust valve opening is too late and part of the power generated at the crankshaft is lost in pushing away the exhaust gas from the engine. The only reason people take the Bullet is its firing report (sound) which is not like any bullet at all but is like that of a controlled exhaust, which can be felt as far away as 10 feet behind the bike. The Indian armed forces did not prefer Royal Enfields but BSAs and Matchless/AJS bikes when they were allwed for import, for this reason. A twin cylinder engine will surely be more powerful with faster acceleration, but that puff, puff exhaust sound will be absent.

Unfortunate that Norton, Triumph, Sunbeam, Matchless, AJS, BSA & Ariel have shut shop. They were the best beasts which would never get tired. That was the quality. Even Royal Enfield (England) the parent model was very good but once Indianised, as usual, the quality goes down & price goes up.

They should have got a twin cylinder, twin carb engine. Cosmetic changes will not take you anywhere. The Yamaha 180 cc bike is far superior

worst thing to ride bullet is the heat discharged by the engine.further their research and development is so poor that you all will always suffer from oil loss as they have failed to find a vendor for oil packing, which is a major disgusting factor. further overweight people should avoid riding bullet as you all will be prone to back pains.

I can tell with certainty that you have not ridden a new bullet and whatever your experiences, they are surely 10 year old!

Sabu, people wait for a bullet for almost 1 year. Let me know any other commercial period sold in India with this long waiting period?
