Most of the East Asian Universities have higher education program in their own language. While in India we have in English.
It is not hard to see that this is A factor, although not the only factor. More important factor is that more than 90% of India lives in 18th century following conmen like Babas, Sanyasis and Mollahs.
What do you expect in country where even people with some college education consume nostrums made out of human bones ?
Just see the response to this message that will come here...
Our govt should stop Btech courses at IIT. Only ME or Ph, D. should be there. then you will see the progress. bcos after getting a stamp from iit, students do not stay there any long.IIT should award degree only after M.E. or Ph.D.
No. 30 behind No. 33 ( IIT - B ) ? Which university / college did the half - wit writer of this article get a degree from ? No wonder that no other Indian university made it to the top 100 in Asia !
Indian universities are not ranked in Top10 even in Asia forget about world ranking. None if indian unviversity ranked in even top 200 in world ranking. We are good only up to south asia level
It is very sad that small countries have so many good ranked universities than India. In India, universities are getting lesser funding and facilities including instrumensts etc. than national research institutes. In fact, universities (where one can get more outputs in doing research) have more numbers of students. However, research institutes (where lesser outputs in the context of research) are having lesser number of students but more number of employees(called as scientist). In these ways we are wasting our money. Our education system is giving mostly importance to memorizing some paragraphs and writing exams rather than doing more experiments and thinking in creative manner that can lead to innovation. In order to be successful, we(mostly younger generation) need to think differently in progressive way and bring drastic development in our education and research. Let us hope we will do our best near future.

most our indian students are not in position to visualise about what they are studying or taught to them, in india only TN govt solve this problem as usual with their innovative vision following foreign education system then as usual rest of india will copy from TN.

If situation is such, onus lies on us, our society and society is made by people whever everyone want output, just number to get degree or promotion. It is better to stress on quality rather number
