Can you continue to keep the amount in the PPF account (after maturity) without renewing it for new contribution, but get the interest?

maximum limit of investment is 1.5 lakh and not 1 lakh as mentioned in the article.

investment limit under 80c is 1.5 but in PPF limit is 1 lakh only

Sorry, after 6 yrs only you can withdraws 50% of saving. U can not close till 15 years. Ur money is safe till time with interest, keep alive deposting Rs.500 each year

Can anyone write something like this for a PF account. Came to know something about 10 year period after which it gets converted to pension. Have no idea as to what it is. If an article on 10 things to know abt PF can be put up, it would be very helpful.

Yes, till rally are violent. Good time pass for 99% people who have sufficient time but no money. Cheapest recreation method too... Level of most is negligible and do not mind in just joining the rally for fun.. ultimately it is the top level who have to take decisions but require supporters on daily wages/small refreshment...

wanted to know if somehow the ICICI is private bank and gets closed kind of bankruptcy just like other organisation such as Kingfisher or Satyam. what will happen to those users who is having the PPF account. is govt responsible for that to repay back.

Dont worry, no bank has so far folded operations in India. Even the weakest of the banks were merged with one or the other PSU banks. Anyways, I believe, Public Provident Fund is CGovt fund and banks only routes the money and earns commission on them. So there should not be any worry about your accumulated PPF, even in the very unlikely event of a bank folding up.

ICICI does not have PPF operation. Only SBI is authorised to handle PPF.

Banks acts only as an collection agent on behalf of GOI and credit the entire collected amount to Govt. A/c at the close of the day
