Mr Symbol, has destroyed all the dreams IIT for normal kids who start dreaming before taking birth. What did he gain out of it? Did he do justice to billions of kids? Actually he shuld have scrapped IITs and created every institute IIT. But no. He want higher caste in education. As if IITs will crate new earth. No matter where you go, you have to live with your innocent kid, brother, mother , father etc.
"A College becomes a University when the FACULTY lose interest in their STUDENTS." - This has great meaning and relevance; a lot can be analyzed about each and every stakeholder constituting the University System in India; Role reviews can be made of the constituents;
But the CRUX of the problem (ills) of Higher Education in India cannot be expressed more blatantly than the above statement; AND the solution also lies in finding out the various elements making up the remedial POTION for those ills.
sir, When as a child in 1978, I wanted to become an engineer , it was for the sake of good employment as they are well paid and stand to get a good girl. Now, there are more professions in India and they are all accepted in the society viz. fashion designer, beautician, hotel management apart from all professional courses. Now, my son has selected to do architecture which suits his natural interest and professional requirement and its not for mere money. And I have resigned from a navaratna company due to professional dissatisfaction. And I would also like to add that the missing part for development is not the highly qualified people rather the people who cant promote already proven technologies in all the fields. Its a political and social drive that is required to transfer the existing and newly found techniques from labs to day to day life. For example, Global warming is a political failure world wide rather than lack of technologies. Instead of commenting our system from sitting abroad, can you pl. help to materialise even a small technology in India. start appreciating dear.
There is nothing wrong with our education or the students?People(Staff)are insincere,and we have failed to give character and conduct and general development and soft skills?We are reading a whole lot of trash?Every one says,that till 12th class,our education is the best but deteriorats after that?

Google the premier institution 'VNIT-Nagpur' and see the happenings there since last 20 days. One suicide there and then a molestation case against a learned Professor of Chemistry. Now what can you expect from institutions where students revolt but then scare themselves of repercussions after exams.
problem is not in the education system - but the system after education. There is not much money to made for a scientist as compared to outside countries. The values of honesty, integrity and respect are taught mainly in homes and not in schools. people who are honest stay poor and everyone makes fun of them and their families (because they are poorer than the bribe taking people). As far as innovation goes - there is plenty. nobody catches it or promotes it. Have you seen the innovative techniques of the young street vendors. If the child makes something new - people would say it is not made like that. So It is the attitude that is the problem.
