Myth 3 is not a myth at all! It is trick to see how ethical you are! A free cup of tea during an interview can be construed as willingness to accept "gifts" from the company's clients!
Myth 4 ..... don't give references till you have the offer letter in your hand! You never know who knows who and how the news of you leaving your current job will affect your current boss! You don't want to lose your current job before getting a new one!
Myth 6 ..... when asked about your achievements, don't hold back (depends on who your future boss is. If he is an idiot, play them down or use simple terms like "learned a lot", "eager to learn" and so on)! Always elaborate about your achievements in terms figures or numbers and percentages such as "contributed or achieved 30% improvement in group sales" and so on!
Myth 8 ..... do not show more than average ambition! You should not make your future boss think you are going after his job! There is more than enough of time to do that once you are in!
Myth 10 ...... Most qualified NEVER gets the job! No manager wants a subordinate who knows more than him! If you get the feeling during the interview that your future boss is an idiot, tone down on the facts about your skills, achievements and ambitions!

Myth 3 - Your explanation is wrong. For a product development company, many employees often don't work directly with company's clients. To accept tea/coffee during interview has nothing to do with accepting 'gifts' from compnay's clients.
