THE ENTIRE SCENARIO SHOULD BE CHANGED
by Varun on Sep 24, 2012 11:29 AM

All BPOs, ITES' women employees could work from their homes at their own comfort and will

Sufficient training should be provided by such companies and once done they should allow the women to work from their homes

The world has become too small with the great evolution in technology. Where there is Internet, there is an office/workplace.

Companies should come forward in developing such an attitude. This trend would also cut the cost of the companies to a great extent, maybe up to 90% of cost can be saved on each employee.

I totally agree that women should get there liberty and flexibility of safe working environment in night/day.
Keeping women safety in mind many IT organizations have just started that if one female employee is travelling with one male employee in same cab and his drop point is 10 -15kms before than female one then it is mandatory to drop her first safely to her place and then only male employee is allow to take his drop. To me this should NOT be like this because male employee might also have dependents like parents/wife alone at home and waiting for him to come home safely in night especially. But nothing wrong also if in case he doesn’t have any issue in taking last drop.

My point is by forcing this way organizations are just trying to show that how much they are concern for women safety but in actual they are not. Because, if organizations are really serious on this then they should have provided security guards to escort women employees during nights. Organizations are perfectly fine to make extra dollars by forcing women employees to stay back in office for late but they are not willing to bear that extra cost to provide security guard in cabs.

Safety of women

Within India, feelings of people about women are different in Mega Cities, Capital Cities as well as in small towns. If this idea is kept in mind and sufficient pre-cautions are taken, women are more or less safe in the country. However stray cases in a country of 120 crores cannot be ruled out.
Somehow women are also to understand about their dress code etc.,according to their work spot in order to maintain certain decorum.

I really welcome the judgement. But only problem is the delay in the judgement. If i violate traffic signal i will be punished on the spot but when such incidents happen we need to have quick settlement and judgement.Judgement delayed is judgement denied.

Women working in night shifts.

women have been working in night shifts in PSUs, Telecom and Telegraph offices, hospitals for a long time. The only difference is they would report for duty at around 8 pm and would remain safely in the work place till morning. They were not thrown out in the mid night like these BPO's does. This habit of BPOs of sending women employees in the mid noght at the mercy of cab drivers is the root cause of all the problems.
