Look at the leading celebreties and you will see that fair number of them are black or brown....Karishma Kapoor would be considered as pale and unattactive due to her skin color compared to say, Latoya Jackson..but in India, it is different case! Krisha had dark complexion (hence the name Krishna varna) but all the 'gopis' were gaga over him...so historically, we did not have biases...may be te mongoloids (mughals) bring that to India

In US natural fairness cream is used more. Face paint is a very popular activity.

It is not about dark complexion. It is about dealing with blemishes. It is similar as dealing with any other body ailment.

Dark complexion is not a body ailment, just like white skin is not a body ailment, the color of skin is just a physical property that nobody should be ashamed of.. Grow up India!
