Amazon's Kindle Fire HD kindles and fires up competition with its low priced suitable models for sure. Will give Apple and Google a good run for their money.
Jeff Bezos says that they may break even or suffer a loss but it will triumph ultimately with ad support. This is what competition is all about.
The 7", 16 GB version will sell for $199. The 8.9", 16 GB version will be for $299. Will get 41% faster Wi-Fi signals than Apple's iPad. OMAP 4470 processor from Texas Instruments; a Front facing camera for video chats; Dual sterio speakers. It also features MIMO which only a small number of high-end laptops have now.
May not have extensive selection of apps as iPad. Amazon's books, movies are fairly good enough.
It also unveils a $499 model that has 4G LTE capability enabling a connection whenever there is a wireless signal and 32 GB of memory and is $230 cheaper than Apple's corresponding iPad.
The old Kindle Fire with 8 GB's price slashed from $199 to $159 now.
What more can you ask for at this moment; except it is not in India now.
Its cheaper!!! Doesn't have android market or camera. Only 8 GB (not enough) of internal storage and no external micro SD slots. No 3G connectivity and android market. Definitely not Ipad killer.. not even Google nexus 7.
Display is 315.6 ppi with polarizing filter and anti glare is certainly one of the best if not the best around.Also has dolby digital dual stereos for theater like sound effect.This comes along with all the amazon goodies of books and movies and songs.This comes along with a ultrafast custom cloud accelerated web browser.This looks like a steal. Hope this is launched in India soon

display is 215.6 ppi not 315.6ppi.sorry for the typo . nexus display is 317 ppi but without polarizing and antiglare which this one has.
