Exactly right!
Rs. 300 salary even 15 years ago though not enough in anyway was a decent sum to get by if your food, clothing and shelter needs were taken care of.
This whole series of articles about first salaries is nonsensical as it does not take into account the time the first salary was earned and the standard of living at that time!
Try giving Rs. 300 to somebody today as a salary and see what happens!

I bet you don't even know hat the word SALARY means. Just to put you on right track, it is a Greek word and it means SALT, Yes Salt that you use for cooking and use to sprinkle on other food. In ancient times people were paid with a bag of SALT, and the payment was called SALARY which is used every where in the word to describe your pay packet.
why this paid article by Ehsaan,we dont know this musician, rediff just marketing this unknown musician by his godfathers?,there are many people started their careers for nothing or zero salry to take experince in many diffret technical to art fields,so nothing special in this paid marketing article by rediff, omnly influnetial people in industry can get fat salries in industry for their sonsor daughters, otherwise many meritous people cry for salry and employeres just squeez freshers financially,or HR squeez on their fianncial negotiating skills.
Ehsaan got Rs. 300/- for one particular assignment, i.e, playing the guitar for recording one jingle. It can be called his fees, not salary. It is ridiculous to draw analogy from this and ask the readers their monthly salary.
