too much green tea..
by Madhu Karthi on Oct 22, 2012 07:14 PM  | Hide replies

Too much green tea — more than five cups per day, for example — is POSSIBLY UNSAFE. It can cause side effects because of the caffeine. These side effects can range from mild to serious and include headache, nervousness, sleep problems, vomiting, diarrhea, irritability, irregular heartbeat, tremor, heartburn, dizziness, ringing in the ears, convulsions, and confusion. Green tea seems to reduce the absorption of iron from food. Drinking very high doses of green tea can actually be fatal. The fatal dose of caffeine in green tea is estimated to be 10-14 grams (150-200 mg per kilogram). Serious toxicity can occur at lower doses.

Sheetal, are you a scientist to deny the fact what Madhu has said? If you are denying something you could have given proper facts so that others would agree with you?

Green tea has much less caffeine than tea and coffee. And green tea has anti oxidants which help in reducing the risk of cancer.

No matter how much you exercise, you really can't lose weight until you start counting calories. I cycle 40kms every alternate day (about 160-200kms) each week and I burn an enormous amount of calories. But because my diet is awful carbs wise, I have lost 6 kgs over 6 months. You can much much more success if you control your diet also. Go see a dietician.

There are so many health apps available for your smartphone. Get an app to count calories. To burn fat, the total calories spent in the day must be higher than the total calories consumed. Simple.
