The article based on perceptions, not facts
by vinod Kumar on Oct 20, 2012 10:11 AM

The article based on general perceptions. The author is not fully informed and has no idea of recent developments. It is excessive dietary calories and derived from purified carbohydrates responsible for heart ailments not the dairy products.
Dairy ghee ghee contains only small amount of cholesterol (2-3 mg/gram), and the absorption of dietary cholesterol in humans is only 10-14 percent. Hence, from a diet containing 50 grams of ghee, the cholesterol absorption will be only 20-30 mg, which is negligible in view of 1000-4000 mg cholesterol synthesized daily in liver to meet its requirements for replacement of tissue and synthesis of hormones and other molecules in the body. Further, body has regulatory mechanism, which shuts off endogenous cholesterol synthesis in situations where dietary cholesterol intake is high. Indeed, it is dysregulation of endogenous cholesterol synthesis that raises serum cholesterol, not the dietary cholesterol.

two years back i was diagnised with high BP and high cholestrol. i eat abundance of snacks and meat. doctor adviced me for medication. i started with BP medicine. did not take medicine for cholestrol. then BP did not come down. doctors started advising higher dose. result i lost sleep. my head started paining. i lost my mental peace. But BP was 150-170/100-110. so after two months i stopped medicine. but i started spirituality. doing yoga half an hour. chanting of vishnusahsranam for 20 minutes. evening walk 35 minutes. drinking louki juice with hotwater in the morning before tea. initially i was controlling food. now there is no much control. now my cholestrol is below normal. my bp is 120-138/72-84. i eat all food. but no problem. but spirituality and walking i decided to continue as i am fit now. recently i climbed the girnar mountain after 8.30 am. i was apprehensive to do the same. but i was the only person did not face any problem even in that temperature.

flaxseed currently cosidered to be the best food source to increase HDL. If possible grind it, grind the quantity which would be sufficient for a week. Try to have 1-1.5 spoonful of grinded flaxseed two times a day. u can surf further about flaxseed and HDL increse. And not to forget, 45 min of exercise, walk/run/yogaor gym, is the best 'proven' way to increase HDL.One imp thing, drink atleast a glassful of water after you take flaxseed.

It is difficult to manipulate with HDL. But you can surely decrease LDL and triacylglycerol, and that helps. Milk fat help to increase HDL, but should be consumed in moderation, without exceeding intake of total dietary calories and recommended level of dietary fat calories.

Entry and expiry date
by Francis Dias on Oct 17, 2012 12:52 PM  | Hide replies

No matter what's written about good/bad foods and healthy and unhealthy eating habits, the fact remains that the moment one is born, s/he is born with an expiry date which s/he will never know. I know of health freaks who have suffered paralysis and some who've even passed away young.
All foods are good if eaten in moderation without gluttony. What will happen if you eat undesirable and too much food is that you will become obese and life will be a strain and many obese people give up because of the effort it takes them to get up and get going.
Discipline in eating is good and a bit of time spent on exercise is very good. Not that it will increase your life span, rather it will keep you fit and going for whatever amount of time you are to be on earth.
What is paramount in life in my view is how much we live. Do we have healthy relationships, or are we known to be 'bad' people. Do we help others or are selfish...and so on.

learn to enjoy life with nature

avoid tension,

biggest thing -those who have money - take tension of how to multiply

those who dont have - take tension of how to make...

but no body enjoy life with what they have.

in a life you need two square meal - how much it cost ??? which can be esily earned by hard work.

one more thing -- stop immediately seeing news channels - all indian and overseas..
