Reservations have killed indian education system
by venkatram reddy on Oct 16, 2012 07:08 AM  | Hide replies

To get a Master degree in computers from a top college , you need to score above 95%, however for a SC, ST , there is no pass mark.if you just appear the common entrance exam , you are assured of a seat in top college , with a nominal fee( fee is also waived based on your income certificate), hostel free etc.
However they take 7 to 8 years to clear their course on an average and then the government of India give them jobs under reservation category.
So where are the seats and jobs for a common man.

This is a state of present India.

reddy garu, who is to blame for this ? isnt it the brahmins who didnt allow non brahmins to study for 1000s of years. So now, non brahmins shd be given reservation for 1000 yrs atleast, to reverse the injustice done to them in the past

And by doing this, you want to go 1000 years back. Two wrongs don't make one right,

Thats normal.

In India only the politicians, Ambani's, Birla's and Tata's are secured as far as I understand.

All the reasons stated in the article are fine. You have forgotton one important thing. Reservations - many meritorious students do not a chance of higher education because of reservations and so opt abroad.

Cannot fully agree. Even those who got seats through reservation want to go abroad for higher studies and wish to settle there
