dentists commenting on cosmetic surgery!
by ranjit raje on Oct 11, 2012 06:16 AM  | Hide replies

rediff website arcticle on cosmetic surgery n first page has a orthodontist commenting on the topic he does not know even the a or b of it! ridiculous! shame rediff shame ! your article is so shallow that you cant even differentiate between cosmetic and bariatric procedures ( for weight reduction) which are NOT cosmetic procedures . cosmetic procedures are essentially body contouring procedures and they do not affect the weight of the body!
cosmetic surgery is like any other surgery with the plastic surgeon knowing the inclusion criteria for his/ her patients and has wonderful results !
please consult qualified and trained super specialists before taking up an article
dr ranjit raje ms dnb mch (plastic surgery)

i completely agree with u dr ranjit.. no wonder cosmetic surgery is still behind in india.. where as in country like US it is accepted by society with 1% breast implants and 10 % of population undergoing abdominoplasty or liposuction.. lot of people in india are also interested in getting cosmetic surgery done and also have the money to do so.. but with media and doctors spreading negative msg about cosmetic surgery people are confused...
the right people should be interviewed to spread awareness.. hopefully in near future cosmetic surgery ll be widely accepted into society and realise its full potential..

undergoing lipo

i'm not a doc, but from what i heard and read -

Every person - skinny or plump have about 30 billion fat cells. It's the amount of fat that these fat cells have stored, make a person fat or obese. In liposuction, these fat cells are removed. You are meddling with nature here.

Patients rarely change their lifestyle and continue to binge and neglect exercise. The body can only store fat in existing fat cells....making you plumper in your tummy, highs, hips, bottom, etc.

When body simply runs out of space to store fat, it starts storing fat in places where fat should not be stored - such as in joints, around organs, etc.

So the person would end up at a far more miserable situation than without lipo surgery.

eating right and exercising right is the only way to lose weight. Don't undergo surgery unless the doc recommends.

I agree with you entirely. I myself was a bit overweight and had an awful-looking beer-belly.
But after a concerted effort with proper food habits and regular exercise, I now am composed of only muscles and of course, no 3-month-pregnant tummy :)
