Total propaganda and bogus
by dramanidhi on Oct 10, 2012 04:31 PM  | Hide replies

IT jobs are over. IT industry tanked almost one year ago. Even big industry giants are struggling just to keep afloat.

Only the bogus media which does not have brain is oh so shouting about this BOOOOMING business.

Within a year majority of IT companies will lay off people. Because of high salary demands, jobs are being migrated to outside India.

Some jobs will migrate out of India to cheaper locations. But most of them will remain. Simply because cheaper destinations are smaller countries which simply cannot supply manpower and competitors like China either have labor issues or issues where their pay scale is already higher than India's. The IT market in India is still opening up. The rate at which it is doing so has slowed down mainly because of the state of the world economy.

It costs 60% of what it costs in India to hire a senior Java programmer in Philippines. The real estate rentals in tier II are almost 1/3 of what I pay in cities like Pune or Hyderabad ( Forget about Mumbai).

There are better schools in Philippines than your average DEEMED universities in India.

Philippines is not a small country. Taiwan is not a small country. Taiwan is 10 times more advanced than India.

Cost of certfications is kept sky high
by PC mittal on Oct 10, 2012 10:38 AM

There are a number of institutions in Hyderabad and elsewhere who offer latest software deamanding courses at very nominal fees but without certfcations. On the other hand certified courses are coting more than 10 times higher . But there are some organisations, who only check the knowledge of aspirants and not thier certifications.
