Extremely wrong information. Basis this chart an average human being who consumes 1800 to 2000 calorie and need to burn 300 calories means a mix of above activities would lead atleast 6 hrs spent in gym a day. He may not lose weight but money by being admitted to hospital for dehydration and excessive workout!!!

so true completely wrong ..from where did rediff picked up this trash..the writer must be prosecuted.
The chart might be correct, but the number mentioned there for calories burnt against various activities are NOT PER HOUR. It might be the calories burnt PER TEN MINUTES. But this again varies depending on factors like individuals age, weight, etc
Reduce eating unnecessary meals. Don't even think of second helping at meal times. Do moderate exercise like brisk walking for half an hour daily and you will be fine. This is my personal experience and others may have different experiences.
This chart is wrong. its true that calorie burned is dependent on type and duration of activity as well as current weight of the person. but figures given in this chart is all wrong
for example
for low impact aerobics per hour calorie burned for 70 kg person is 352 and for high impact it is 493.
Indians have followed a tradition of aping since time immemorial. CAlories..my bottom. Talk about building good roads, water supply, electricity. Now get that correct and then talk about civic senses, Keeping your country clean ,getting mature and getting less emotional about things. After that talk about whatever you want.

I am a corrupt person, I just corrupted now hi hi hi hi hi. On a serious note. If you want weight loss, reduce what you eat. There is no way you can reduce weight by exercising, it can be done but by the time you reach your target weight your joints will be finished. exercise to keep/build the muscle and for cardiovascular fitness. I am 78 from 105. So I know. with out any fancy equipment, gym or drugs.
