As if Rediff promoting handsets...
Starting from Samsung, then Motorola, then HTC, then Micromax, then Karbonn, & finally Hauwei..
every month, handset prices r slashed. So why making news ????
Sony is going really great & u didnt mentioned here, it also slashed a bit prices. (Its becoz sony dont give money for promotion)

very high prices
by deepak on Oct 03, 2012 09:45 AM  | Hide replies

in usa these phones re available t very less prices still only 45% americans buy them. think before you buy them for much more than what americans pay. are they worth? u need to get out of race to have the latest gadget. its mere show off to others, not for ur use.

Use this money to buy a good gift for your family or help a poor family instead. This will help your family and nation.

It is cheaper there because it is tied up with a 2 year contract with a service provider. If you break the contract, you have to pay the full price via bill.

Secondly, their monthly phone bills, under such contracts are much heavier than the price they pay for the phones in the first place. For example, an iPhone5 for $200 gets you a monthly bill for $300 approximately for the next 12 months. So which is cheaper ?

But I agree with you on the need to get out of the race for buying devices where only 10% of its capabilities are used while 90% is mere boasting and show off. I know of no one who uses mms facility nowadays, except college students. Anyway college students don't pay their bills, their parents do. When they graduate, curiously they turn thrifty.

Just my 2 paisas worth... hahaha...

its not worth to buy a phone more than 15k
by deepak on Oct 03, 2012 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

its really not worth to buy a phone more than 15k price. phones up to 12k price have all required features for an advanced phone like web browsing. there is nthing extra anyone does with iphones and galaxies. think wise and dont follow others like sheep. a recent article in cnn told that only 45% of americans take smartphones!! that too not the top end smartphone. so even u have to buy a smartphone go for 10-12k max. u will not get anything extra by paying more bucks.

moreover every year or 2 u feel like getting new one. its just a show off market created by these companies which really is not necessary if u think.
