Is it so. My experience is exactly opposite. After I finished few pages of his novel, One Night @ the Call Center He nearly made me to stop reading novels for ever.

And he has also made some readers into non readers. Most of his writing (as in his style) does not in some case, his language in others, and the storyline in most) does not appeal to me. And i have a strong aversion to him appearing as a representative of youth on TV debates (really? how is he a representative of my opinion?)

Nevertheless, going by voltaire's principle, i may disagree with what you say, i will defend your right to say it.

It is none of our business to tell chetan bhagat what to write, and none of our business to tell his readers what to read.

if he has a style we disagree with but there is a market for it, well then let that market be happy with what he writes. Just because something is different from the set pattern (or language in this case) does not make it bad.

its the same with Indian bollywood masala movies - oft derided by many in India - masala movies is in itself a genre - "Melodrama musical" if you may. Let us appreciate the differences
