agree with you on the home cooked food. but comparing 5 starts to road side eateries on being equally bad is laughable. if you know how the star ratings are given, then you can see why they OUGHT to be different. its bad if star rated restaurants behave as badly as mentioned in this article. they are in effect cheating customers and doing it very dishonestly. alteast this is not something the roadside eateries do since whatever they do is in front of you
ha, the author writes about kitchen staff returning from toilet directly to kitchen without washing their hands. have you peeped into any of the medium or small bakeries in India. I have seen bakery staff kneading dough on the tiled floor with their sweat dripping into the dough.

They must be pacifist Gandhians. They save on salt. This is what Gandhi proposed during salt satyagraha.
I frequently visit restaurants as I am not married yet & don't know cooking. Once, I got some insects in the mutton biryani I ordered. Worse, when I went to complain to the Manager he said insects are friends of humans & we should ignore them!

Todays balance Idli will be tommorrow Uttappa. They buy the cheapest vegetable. Some time even rotton meant for the kachda dabba. When onion is cheap they supply to the customers. When the price is increased they will stop supplying onion. they add colours to attract the customers. They use cooking oil several times and do not change the entire oil in a cokking vessel. Only portion by portion they add to it. When the price increase, the quanitty, size etgc. are decreased. When price of tea is increased they use big cups for some days. Gradually they replace the cups with smaller ones.
