"I laminated the first 100 rupee note which still stays as my prized possession.".
Dhiman Chakraborty, You have committed a grave crime, by defacing government property, do you know this could lead you to be arrested.
No one in any country of the world is allowed to deface the currency. It is government property.
If I was you I will not brag about it and keep it to yourself, it may not lead to any thing, then there are people around who will take every opportunity to make sure you are degraded in some way and this could also be used against you by your colleagues who do not wish you to see you to be successful.
It may seems petty but knowing India it can work against you.
remember even photocopying a note is against the law.
Colour photocopiers reject and fail to copy notes.
Keep it to yourself.

u r wrong

It's not illegal to laminate money, what is illegal is to try and spend it afterwards

so technically, its not a crime unless he try to spend it.

I was thinking of the same issue as I read through the article. You should not deface Currency at any cost, tearing a note, writing on note, coloring a note, laminating a note etc is a crime. But in India its OK, even-though you admit in Public.. Who cares?

i was barley 18 years and two days old. a close friend of my elder brother, gave me clues for a job with m/s eastern engineers and founders, c/7-9 rana pratap bagh, delhi 110007. i travelled from anand parbat to shakti nagar chowk and finally at the location.
late shri narain datt khullar was the proprietor.
the job as a assistant was fixed up at rupees one hundred twenty five; on 14th january, 1973.
i received my first 'pagaar' on 4th february, 1973, as i was to proceed on tour to chandigarh on official trip.
i have in my record first one rupee note, which i received from khullar sahib. i remember i purchased pakoras for home, as also a small handkey for my younger sister.
i have visited the residence of late khullar sahib with my spouse and our daughter and met khullar saheb's grandchildren [pottey and poti]. it was a wonderful meeting them.
khullar saheb worked with a british company in connaught place before retirement.
whatever i am today, i owe it to late khullar saheb. he was a shrewed businessman, a shrewed employer, yet a funtastik trainer and a loving husband and an adorable father. my salutes to his noble soul.
regards
