Talented students prefer to read in College of Engineering & Technology and in University College of Engineering(VSSUT)to the other colleges like KIIT and Siksha O Anusandhan after NIT & IIT;These two colleges produce talented B.Tech students; but unfortunately rediff ranking shows N.R. in national level.

Infrastructure and faculty strength/qualification wise they are poor. Good students chose these colleges because of the Govt. stamp on them. As they take good students, obviously produce good engineers.

Quality of Faculty and quality of teaching is available only at CET, UCE along with NIT & IIT; however qualified faculties are available at KIIT also.Regarding rest of the colleges on qualified faculty as well as quality of teaching is a debatable issue as I think.
when some 7 lakh students graduate every year from these colleges, which is about the total number of engineers in US, does it matter whether u study in this college or that college as long as it is not an IIT/NIT/Highly reputed institute.
I think the idea of ranking every collegeuniversity is good. Gives a sense of competition to the colleges and thus improving them. Also, the students have a fair idea of how colleges compare against each other, especially with the recent ones.
One thing though I would insist is that the ratings should be fiercely independent and not susceptible to corruption or manipulation. It should be as transparent as possible.
The points considered should also indicate the collaboration of the university with local companies which specialize in a specific technology. This would keep the students and professors up to date without relying on the syllabus and also gives confidence to the companies that the finished product coming out of that university is worth hiring!
Rest of the points should be fine tuned over a period of time
this is absolutely rubbish..as far as know.. WALCHAND College of Engineering (AA) in Sangli Maharashtra...is much much higher in faculty, liberary..curricullam than Dr. JJ Magdum college of engineering (AA ) Kohlapur. Walchand college has 60 years of excellance since before from independence..... the point is Rediff is rubbisshhhhhhhh

hmm...even i think so...in 2006, i interviewed a girl from E&TC from WCE Sangli...i was astonished to see how can one of the top colleges produce such a dumb!! that too, even after the girl having 4 yrs of experience in one of the top IT companies..
This list is not alright, How come some of the poor colleges have got better rating, this survey is biased or made by unprofessional people. This list is going to misguide the students and parents. Please do not put such lists in you website. Very bad
Only some of the students who join here are top class, but the teaching faculty standard has to drastically improve or else they have to recruit better set and give VRS to incompetent. Also Research centres have to established in ECE/Telecom departments, it is better the state government aquires it and developes into a institute of excellence with its potential to develop.
