Hi you have mentioned many times that you love chemistry..the best subject..but why to chose engineering? Yeah I agree you got the rank..but once you join the engineering.u have to kill your passion and u will be one among the herd..select Chemical science and technology..offered by some of the IITs that will be a great idea!!

unfortunately chemical science and technology or chemical engineering does not dwell too much into organic chemistry either. So if you very passionate about chemistry a better idea will be to enroll for Chemistry as a degree and not any engineering degree!

An achiever's passion is achievement - not any particular subject!! He worked hard for IIT JEE because that's what the world around him told him is the most coveted thing for a lad his age.

Btech after MBA..I dont understand this combination!! its only suits students having innovative ideas..need some management and marketing idea to sell their product or whatever..but everyone is plannig for mba after btech..no on is trying to encourage sciences..you can even chose MSc chemistry in iits by attempting IIT JAM after BSc..there are many different ways to go to IIT..but politicians and corporate collges dnt encourage that because they will not be benifited by it

unless the remuneration and reputation of pursuing scientific research is made on par with management, this trend will continue. We cant give a lot of credence to what the topper says at this stage as things change in 3 years time in the college. But if the tendency to abhor scientific subjects is to be reversed, the need of the hour is to restore the pride and prestige of doing research and making it on par with management studies....

Dear Arpit Aggarwal, please study chemistry and NOT engineering. Any body can be an engineers. Pursue your passion NOT the career. The need of the hour is good quality students to study and research in basic sciences.

Then make sure that pursuing a career in pure sciences is equally rewarding financially and socially as is the case abroad. Else people flock to engineering and later on to something like management and worse to civil services!
