Not entirely surprising. Racism depends on whether the particular neighbourhood has experience in already being multiethnic or not.
In Saudi he must have been in a place where a lot of foreigners stay. So that must have been a multi-ethnic place. The particular place he went to in NZ may not have been a major city like Auckland, and hence would not have been exposed to multi-ethnicity.
The situation would have been reversed had he been to the real "Saudi" and to Auckland.

Racism is rampant in Auckland especially when it comes to employment. I have been living here for the last decade.

Indians are also one of the most racist people in the world. But then we all are in self denial mode.

Look at how the foreigner tourists treated in metropolitan cities in India. Thats an evidence enough.

Can you please elaborate?

My experience tells me that (white) foreigners in India are always given special status and preferential treatments compared to native Indians (standing in queues, etc.)! If you meant black foreigners then I have to admit lack of experience though.

why don't you look at your own country...other countries do discrimination with outsiders you do discrimination with your own people in the name of caste, religion...they are far better then us...it is just Indians as usual are getting as bigger threats to those countries in terms or job or economy

Jatin, you seem to have gotten carried away by the article headline, unfortunately barring rare situations, the odd man out is always treated badly, and this has happened to Vineet as well. It has nothing to do with Australia or NZ, a lone white in a group of blacks or Asians may have faced similar issues, for that matter closer home, a lone Southie is bound to face this amongst a group of Northies or vice versa....

Well, I agree to your last line "a lone Southie is bound to face this amongst a group of Northies " but not to the last few words "vice versa...." ..Northies hindi lieterate show-off southies are generally at both giving and receiving ends.
