Medical students still rely on archaic, dated text books

Unfortunately, there is no alternative. We still don't have alternative modern textbooks in India (not notes passed as textbooks, as in several professional courses, Dr Reshma Nayak? I remember way back in 1980, a batch of students, some from lesser privileged rung of society entered medical college.(The fee, in those days, even for general candidates, was something most parents could easily afford.) Since, the books were of English authors, some found it very difficult, yet to this day we don't have quality books in any of the Indian languages.
