Loosing sheen??
by philip mathew on Mar 26, 2012 06:53 PM

The medical profession hass been loosin its sheen steadily over the last 2 decades... people just does not look upto doctors as they did 50 years back, most of the patient would like to have a client/customer relationship with their doctor.. gone are the days when the family doctor used to scold the "punk" teenager for movin out in the rain and getting a cold... also, the "incubation" period of a doctor is pretty long, 6 years of mbbs, 3 years of MD, 3 years of DM, and a few years under some senior.. who wants to take the pain when you can finish a 4 year Btech and earn almost the same amount of money...
But the amount of job satisfaction u get out of being a doctor, just cannot be compared with any other profession..Sorry for the prejudiced statement :-)

Many of the Institutes even after passing examination asks more tham Rs.35 to 40 lacs as capitation fee. Good number of students are not capable of paying.
