Even Indian beggars contribute to Indian economy!
by kallol paul on Mar 08, 2012 05:05 AM

Don downsize economy contributed by all. However the article is a refreshing change from the usual focus on much hyped Economic experts and company CEOs. Most of them sound foolish n greedy many a times.

Great snaps by Reuters and the photographers!!

What an article

It seems that rediff deliberately puts unnecessary things in its articles to invite more comments. While all these jobs are important, they are not driving the economy. Men contribute >80% of the country's economy.
However, rediff should have put a picture of a housewife, which though directly not contribute to economy but definitely may affect the economy as a whole because of the responsibilities associated with it in a family.

when i was going through the headline, i was not surprised rediff would post such categories of women as torch bearers..i was at least expecting the portrait of a poor pregnant women who works as a daily wage labourer in construction companies or a middle class women who have to travel by the busy mumbai trains to goto office after finishing her house hold work..

may be these lady bouncers might be helpful if they join the struggling indian cricket team..
