by rajesh kumar on Jun 29, 2012 09:13 AM  | Hide replies

Is this a JOKE? Cuurent price for pre order is $299. In India are they selling it for $199? Why? Why this article is misleading? The limited edition distributed at the confrence is on auction for $730. Check it yourself at E-bay.

299 ? what are you smoking ? every single news outlet and google themselves are reporting 199.

you must have mistaken it for something else

sim slot
by Gajanan on Jun 28, 2012 11:50 PM  | Hide replies

I use google products (Chrome, Android Phone, Google Docs) more than MS products. So, as far as my use is concerned Google has taken over MS.
If this device comes with a sim card slot and 3G I can replace my phone as well.

Google Tablet is perfect for the masses
by wizardo id on Jun 28, 2012 08:48 PM  | Hide replies

The Google Nexus device is perfect combo of the latest hardware and the latest software. This is perfect for most people as they have very cleverly given what is most required, to keep the cost under $200 - which should be fine for most people. anyone who wants a superior experience - larger screen , more capacity, can go for the ipad or any other high end android

Again one more fail Tablet from Google. They are clunky and not silky smooth.
Android have only around 300 true Applications for tablets.

1D1Ot, Dont compare 11K tablet with a 40K one, its like comparing maruti with Ferrari.

Its an all purpose great tablet and can do whatever that 40K money eater and sucker does.

you've got it totally wrong. they've redced the prices by stripping all unnecessary stuff, yet at a very competitive price. the jelly bean performance totally rocks we evidently seen in the jellybean demo.

apple tablets are expensive POS compared to this one.

as regards apps - wait and watch how google beats the pants off apple - tablet AND phone combined

I certainly hope so - but the stranglehold of windows is pretty tight as a lot of services are based on microsoft OS. I hope to see a day when microsoft's windows is down to 50% marketshare.

Again, just a question of time. Gone are the days of Windows. People will flock to that which is more intuitive and user friendly. We've already seen the might of Google - Android is a prime example. Whoever thought it could challenge Nokia or Apple?

Google thinks long-term, builds products for the masses and continues to innovate - there's not much more a company needs to pull in consumers.

ha! your bogey of "not paying royalty" is dashed to the ground. apple has been trounced by US courts. they lost miserably to motorola and the judge said asked them to get lost!

oracle lost the case miserably too.

Rediff is more into advertising rather than reporting news. All you can see is just ads attached to all articles. This is highly irritating these days.
