I must say, Rediff collected nearby hill stations in a systematic order. I was not aware of these places. For those who says 150 km is not near, I wonder what is near to them.

Waste of everyone's time. 500 kms from chennai is the so called valparai and still near to chennai.We do come to rediff everyday to read news but dont spoil ur readership with such nonsense content. This will take you no where other than getting more clicks and more money initially and evntually it will fade out one day.
distance of more than 100 kms on a hilly terrain dont qualify to be called 'near Chennai' rather some of those places seem nearer to Coimbatore/Ooty n Madurai. Rediff - heading should match with the content !
