wonderful said by Kapil sabil.i am in commerce, management teaching profession and know less about IIT but know that coaching is very expensive and not affordable to middle and lower class people.it is nice if 12th board is considered and students will take care of not only IIT entrance but also of 12th results.also capitation fees will be reduced.thanks for sharing.
forget everything do away with reservation, there is nobody backward today except it is used only during time of jobs, admissions and promotions. give the reservation class fukat education even do charity and give them to eat but not fukat entry. just see iit bombay computer seats allotment. it closed at 72 all india ranking and there are people with 7000 ranking and some who are not allotted any ranking who have got seat at iit bombay. this is ridiculous and a mockery of everything.these kind of people should be permanently locked up in india being fukat candidates. even if it is one exam then it should be one category and no reservation mr sibal
One entrance is welcome but the reasons mentioned are not same. First bring parity to 11th and 12th syllabus all across India. Second ask only questions from 11th and 12th syllabus. Asking questions from 1st to 4th semester of Engg. course is the main reason of Girls not getting, many coaching classes etc. Instead of working in industries,IIT Engrs are now in coaching business. IIT teachers like to ask questions from their syllabus which is wrong.Like CAT, syllabus issue should not come here. IITs are going too much in to deep zone of subjects which are not at all used in practical field. This is done in Engg. also hence IIT Engrs are finding difficulty in Industry [except IT sector].IIT or Engg. college teachers must have 2 to 3 years training in respective industry of their teaching subject.
Each of these board exams would paint different strokes. The IIT-JEE was highly focused on problem solving. Its focus was simple; select the best, don't care about the rest, because it wsa not a board or anything. The CBSE was not like that. The exam had to be reasonably competitive and yet cater to the masses. So it had mixture of problem solving and rote. I have seen the TN entrance exam (single window). It was entirely by rote, so much so, that I knew of folks who had by hearted the answers to numerical problems!! I am sure there would be other states like that too. By trying to have single window, not only the disparities across boards have to be normalized, but also the different purposes of Board exams and IIT-JEE have to be synergised.
Like in US why not have only one board, why do we have ICSE, CBSE and individual States. Let him make that and then concentrate on higher education. One step at a time.
Sibal is making a good initiative, as far as students are concerned. Only that should be the ultimate concern. Rest of the steps to be taken by CBSE, State Boards, Universities, IITs , NITs must be only towards that end
