Strategy of Selecting a College
by Pradeep Raghuraman on Jun 17, 2012 05:37 PM

In my view point, it is always safe to select a good reputed college, but in-case if you had to compromise on the quality of the college (means selecting a college not in top grade college list) due to lack of required scores or insufficient finances, then you should always a select a college provided its location is within or near a developed or a developing city. This would help students gain exposure and help easily participate in various student related events or activities. - exposure will help lot in many ways. Selecting a good reputed college in a developed city is doubly right. Thus opting a course of an individual's choice and striving for his or her value addition through out the course span through various exposures will help go a long way....

Dont go to any college in Bangalore....
by harsha bhatt on Jun 14, 2012 05:02 PM  | Hide replies

Dear students,

Please dont any colleges in Bangalore as Bangalore is becoming more and more intolerent towards students from other states, at all levels including teachers/professors/universities/classmates etc etc...

This is leading to these other states students falling short of attendence, failing in practical exams miserably, not getting enough co-operation from faculties etc etc.

So Please dont join any colleges in bangalore for any course...

manoj is absolutely right - what is required is
"working SMART is what gives you the edge".

to elaborate further,

no matter after getting admission in so called best college - students still attend private tution classe.

its pity- inspite lot of material available on net - todays net savy generation still goes to run away classes.

its high time survey should be conducted about
passing % of students who attend tution classes.

go to any college - do value added courses available by Govt, DOEAC, Management Associations ,NIIT...... and improve your career prospects.

it is a funny situation in which, students bunk normal classes and go to coaching. i tried free coaching for weak students and in soft skills and Personality Development. students do not value such service. They want to go to reknowned or famous coachings. The basics are missing but they want advanced and costly coaching institutes.

The best I can give is that the college doesn't matter, what matters is what you do there.

You are the masters of your destiny.

If you throw away your precious years, they will come back to haunt you later in life.

You can go the best, most scholastic college and turn into a complete failure if you don't work SMART.

Working hard for what you want is the norm.

But working SMART is what gives you the edge.

You have to first conduct a brutally honest assessment of your own abilities.

Remember you can cheat everybody in the world except your own self.

Once you know where you lack in achieving the kind of success you want, you can work on improving yourself.

DON'T LET YOUR COLLEGE OR CLASSMATES DEFINE YOU.

Set a goal and pursue it with single-minded determination.

You will be discouraged and cheated into believing that you don't need to work hard and SMART.

Don't believe anyone. Just remember if and when you fail or succeed, it is you who fails or succeeds.

You face the consequences - good or bad.

So don't let admission to some sub par college discourage or depress you.

Move forward with the attitude that You are going work so hard that you will make your college famous not the other way around.

Ultimately, Nobody cares which college you went to. What everybody recognizes you for is what you did with your life and career.

thats some sound advise from manoj. your college life would be 3-6 years depending on your field and after that your working life would be 30-35 years at least. so what you do in your 30-35 years will matter a lot. there is no doubt that a good college gives you a head start in the race of life but dear all life ia a marathon and not a 100 mt race so even if you do not get as good a start you had wished there is plenty of time to cover it up and if you work hard, smart continously you would certainly be a winner.

Be discreet with the company you choose in college. Hang out ONLY with the filthy rich kids, licking them at every opportunity. You'll definitely have earned your star on the "Success Walk Of Fame."
