to produce entrepreneurs - but to train students in fundamentals of managing business. They are not something thats available to all. An entrepreneur may still need professional management discipline if he wants to grow or consolidate.
B school does not produce much entrepreneurs... Entrepreneurs are borne.. not made... born instinct is required..but b chool produces intrapreneur.... who may be small departmental entrepreneurs.. thats not bad..Subrato BA of orissa is more of bol bacchan... his role in mind tree and previous organisation is just peripheral...he himself is less entrepreneur , more motivational blabber...
Thank God, at least one has the cojones to tell the truth. Never ever a true entrepreneur can be made like a factory product by any school. Lateral thinking, free thinking, grokking, clairvoyance, clairaudience, not limiting the realm of one's imagination,.. are some unique ingredients require in the making of a nonpareil entreprenuer. No B-school under the sun can hammer these unique qualities in any man unless these are there in his blood.
So, man, think freely, don't believe in set-belief, if u want to taste success, swim against the stream, be a trailblazer, never respond to herd instinct, should have courage of yr convictions, and above all, don't ape, defend yr individuality even in the teeth of most hostile circs, then only u deserve to be the True winner.
Re: Subroto Bagchi: B-schools never produce an entrepreneur

agree. B schools should look to just equip people with knowledge needed to manage a business. But that should not be confused with creating enterpreneurs. Enterpreneurs, especially in India are very rare to find. I put it down to the mindset of the average Indian which is extremely narrow minded in its thinking. It is also due to years of oppression by foreign invaders that we all have a slavish mentality. Our ancestors had it and it has been passed on to us.
We all know how VG Siddhartha made his money. Google up to know :). He is also the son - in law of SM Krishna. Subroto get your facts correct before pointing out entrepreneurs.
Everyone knows that one does not have to be educated to be a politicians or businsessmen. If you see politicians make crores of rupees by helping businessmen to get easy access to funds and natural resources. So why should a person use his talents and education to be an entrepreneur. See Shahid Balwa, Raja made billions by using wrong means. So most of the indians are resigned to their fates.

If one can make millions without doing MBA, he should not waste their time. If they can't, welcome to MBA... One more thing to remember, MBA is not going to give you millions. But it will arrange bread and butter in case you fail in your life.

you are true, but we must follow good examples. There are large number of persons who saved the values and inspired the young generation. They work as agent of change. It is because of them, we are surviving. Currupt persons can never be a part of history.
If u study MBA from my alma mater, Imperial College London, then u can become entrepreneur..all indian b schools are bogus and cannot stand high standards of European and American B schools...Rajiv jee studied from Imperial College London

ha ha ha, Sameer Bhagwat is just looking for a fight.
This is total misconception that B Schools in India produce administrators and managers to manage people's money and assets. Very low percentage of Graduates of B Schools are successful managers, otherwise they are serving as workers in different industries with designation of managers. If they are so good managers, why they do not establish their own enterprise and create employment for others. B-Schools and the students of such schools must change their mindset and try to become enterpreneurs, not the workers.
